SAFETY BASIS OF CERTIFICATION

The safety basis of certification should be defined in the statement of work and determined from the system level analysis and/or subsystem or equipment level allocations. It should be present in every Statement of Work (SOW) and detailed in a system safety program plan. Early preliminary safety assessments and functional hazard assessments help to define the safety criteria.
